Oregon Tech and sports in Klamath Falls

Oregon Tech

Oregon Tech calls itself Oregon's Polytechnic University. Its main campus is the Klamath Falls Campus at 3201 Campus Drive, Klamath Falls, OR 97601. It also has a Portland-Metro campus and a partnership location at Boeing in Seattle. The university's site says it offers 47 majors and degree programs in engineering, health, business, technology and applied arts and sciences, with hands-on, project-based learning.

The school opened in 1947 as the Oregon Vocational School and became the Oregon Technical Institute in 1948, according to Wikipedia. That page gives two dates for the 1947 opening, July 14 and July 15, so we give only the year. Oregon Tech also hosts the Winter Wings birding festival on its campus; see Klamath Basin outdoors.

Owls athletics

Oregon Tech teams are the Owls. The athletics site shows the school in the Cascade Conference and the NAIA, and lists 13 varsity sports:

  • Baseball
  • Softball
  • Men's and women's basketball
  • Men's and women's cross country
  • Men's and women's golf
  • Men's and women's soccer
  • Men's and women's track and field
  • Women's volleyball

Men's rugby is listed as a club, not a varsity sport. Schedules are on each sport's page at oregontechowls.com, and tickets are sold through the Online Ticket Portal linked from the athletics site.
